The Hallmark Card Studio 2010 is an almost-great product. I became interested in this software so that I could save money and make my own personalized birthday and other greeting cards. Besides paper greeting cards, this software also allows you to create electronic cards, gift tags, labels, invitations, note cards, stickers, envelopes, photo frames, calendars and some cool 3-dimensional projects like small gift boxes. It also has an art studio that allows you to customize and personalize your projects. PhotoPower allows you to customize and edit photos that you can incorporate into your projects, and there is also an event planner that can help you organize your important dates and events in a calendar.
All in all, this is a very useful product which allows you to use your creativity to produce personalized projects. At the same time, if you don't want to be creative and just want to save money by printing your own cards, you can do that too. There is an abundance of themes, designs and moods to choose from, including non-traditional card categories like step-families and cards in Spanish.
The biggest challenge I had with this software was the lack of customization available for printing. There are quite a few things you can do to customize your project for printing, but it still remains cumbersome to print cards of various sizes on custom sized paper. In my opinion, software like this should allow the user to print on whatever paper of whatever size that works with his/her individual printer, without having to buy Hallmark paper and envelopes. I found that working with the paper and printing to be the most frustrating and time-consuming part of the card-making process.
In the end, I will continue to experiment with this software, within the limits of its printing capabilities. The software itself is incredibly user-friendly, almost to a fault because users with computer skills are limited by the boundaries of the software. I would rate this product a 7 out of 10.

No fix here. Every time I print, the program crashes. There is no fix. Customer support was useless. I've used this product for sometime in its earlier versions, but apparently here is the final straw. I would NOT recommend this product unless you have an OS other than Win 7 64 bit.

You can't go wrong with Hallmark. They are the experts in card making, and this software is no exception. It was easy to learn and navigate the software. I think I will enjoy making cards and using the images to coincide with some of my other software for scrapbooking etc. I liked being able to send cards via e-mail and adding sounds. That is a fun feature.

Hallmark Card Studio 2010 Review
4 stars
I had been wanting to try a greeting card software for sometime now in hopes of being able to print cards for the seemingly endess amounts of birthdays:) I felt like this had a really nice selection of cards to choose from for all types of occasions, the kids birthday cards were especially impressive as there were over 100 to choose from. I loved the photo card feature and the fact that I could make my own photo cards for Christmas.Another feature that I liked was the ability to search by theme or keyword. I found the program to be extremely user friendly, the card quality was great, and the program downloaded and ran on my computer with no problems. Lots of cute cards and a great way to save a little money on those $5 a piece greeting cards at the store!

I have tried installing this program on three different computers to find one that will enable it to print. I found one of the three and that's all. All 3 computers are running Windows 7 32-bit Home Premium. The program runs fine until it's time to print. Hit print and the program crashes. At first it seems that the problem stems from an inability to install the .NET framework 3.5 that comes on the program disc, but that's not it. 3.5 comes with Windows 7. (Further, I've installed .NET framework 4.0 and still no luck printing.
I wrote Hallmark tech support for assistance 3 days ago and no response. I will say that I've used previous versions of this software and although its construction is fairly old school, I have really enjoyed it. I've spent hours making cards and had fun doing it. I hope to get this thing working. I've spent hours trying to do that too!
If it installs successfully for you I'm sure you'll enjoy the program, but if it doesn't it would seem that their tech support won't be much help.
