Lots of choices in card design and customization. So, that part is good. Cards print fine for my wife and I on our Windows 7 machines, but we have had no luck printing envelopes - we finally gave up on envelopes and used MsWord instead. I complained about this with Nova Development and they were unhelpful.
12-05-2009 - I now have to give this product One star. Not only are envelopes an issue, but now I have run into an issue while working on a photo Christmas card. After a half-dozen or so pictures are added I started getting an 'out of memory' error. This happened on two different Windows 7 machines. We fell back to GCF 7, still with Windows 7, and no error messages were received.
We are now very disappointed and are unable to recommend GCF 8 to anyone.

I have been trying different Greeting Card Software for some time and have the following programs installed on my computer at this time:
American Greeting CreataCard Plus 4.
American Greeting PRINT! Premium 2.
Hallmark Card Studio 2009( Have renewed since 2004). Will not renew again.
Hallmark Comedy Card Studio.
Printmaster Platinum 2.0.
Card Builder from Pearl Mountain.
Greeting Card Studio.
Greeting Card Factory is the best yet. It has all of the features you find on the other programs plus it offers plenty of templates for every occasion. It is the most intuitive program and has plenty of clip art, sentiments and photos. It allows you to alter the printing on the front of the card as well as the verse inside. One of the best features is the ability to control the size of the thumbnail to choose your template. All of the other programs only offer you a small thumbnail to pick the template you want but Greeting Card Factory allows you to enlarge the selections so you can actually read what is on the card as you are making your selection. Much better than switching back and forth till you get the template you want.

I cannot get the program to print envelopes properly. Error message says wrong size paper. Tried everything. Old version worked OK.

I ordered the Greeting Card Factory Version 8 direct from Nova Development via their new product email promotion.
I have enjoyed the previous versions of this program, and have encouraged family and friends to buy it.
Sadly, I am so disappointed with the new version. Gone is the ease of use, the wonderful color selection for creativity, and the easy to use bonus graphics, and fonts.
The access tabs for "Text", "Color" "Gallery" and "Effects" are in a inconvenient sliding menu style along the side.
The standard color selection is limited.
The project "save" icon is not distinct; it is easily confused with the "open a project" icon.
The bonus graphics and bonus fonts on the DVD cannot be accessed.
I sent my question via email to Nova, and got a prompt answer:
'You will need to copy the fonts from the disc to the Fonts folder within Vista.' I attempted to follow the detailed instructions provided, however, I still cannot use the bonus graphics, or bonus fonts.
The program will not print envelopes, a tremendous failure for a greeting card program.
What a waste of money! I am going back to Version 7.

This program is well worth the price. I bought this and I also bought Hallmark Card Studio. The tools in Greeting Card Factory 8.0 Deluxe are far superior to those in the Hallmark version. I am still happy with both programs, because I find that I can create proffesional and personalized looking cards on the front, and then get hints of what to say in the Greeting Cards "Sentiment" section. The finished card I put into Hallmark Card Studio and put their stamp on the back of the card. True, I also have a problem printing out envelopes, but I attribute that to my printer, not either program. I print out names on Avery address labels. Comments on Christmas and Birthday have been superb. If I could give 7 stars I would! Check out the effects tool in Greeting Card Factory. WOW!
